Our Story

This nonprofit charity was created by the family of Robert Spiewak who died on December 28, 2012 at the young age of 24.  Rob died as a result of a drug overdose; the end of a four and a half year struggle with drug addiction that he and his family endured.  WINGS FOR HOPE, INC. has a primary goal of providing financial support to family members of those in recovery to enable them to participate in family recovery programs who would be unable to participate without these funds.  WINGS FOR HOPE, INC. will also provide basic personal necessity items for those in recovery while in sober living environments. WINGS FOR HOPE, INC. will work with qualified and certified addiction professionals to identify the families and those in recovery who may benefit from family recovery programs and require financial assistance.  You can help by making a donation. WINGS FOR HOPE, INC. is incorporated as a nonprofit charitable organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Urn

This urn holding Rob's ashes is a daily reminder of the disease of addiction.

This empty lot in North Philly is where Rob's lifeless body was found on December 28, 2012.  He had left a sober living home in Pompano Beach, Florida the day before, having more than 100 days sober.
